An extra layer of safety
Emergencies can happen at any hour. At hospitals across the country, Ob Hospitalist Group hospitalists are standing by to help women who are pregnant or have just given birth. Our programs provide around the clock care from hospital-based OB/GYN physicians. These highly skilled clinicians do not replace the care patients receive from their regular OB/GYN physicians, instead they service as an extension of the patient’s regular doctor.Learn More
Who We Are
Our mission is to ensure that every expectant mother receives consistent, unconditional medical care by a highly skilled clinician when presenting to the hospital labor and delivery department. To fulfill this mission, we partner with hospitals across the country to provide programs that ensure there is a skilled OB/GYN clinician in the hospital 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Hospitalist is the term used for doctors who are specialized in the care of patients in the hospital, and our clinicians are called OB hospitalists because they specialize in only caring for pregnant women while they’re in the hospital.
What We Do
Though nothing is more rewarding than bringing a baby into the world, the act of childbirth can be one of life’s most stressful – and unpredictable events. Despite the fact that most deliveries and pregnancies don’t require an emergency intervention, there are times when that becomes necessary. We believe that having an OB hospitalist on staff 24 hours a day dedicated to delivering emergency care in a supportive way is incredibly beneficial to patients.
Our clinicians (OB/GYN physicians and certified nurse midwives) evaluate patients, respond to emergencies in the hospital, provide support to community OB/GYNs and care for patients who don’t have a regular obstetrician. OB hospitalist programs are a growing trend across the country as hospitals look to enhance care and safety for pregnant patients. Our clinicians do not replace the care of a patient’s regular obstetrician. However, when an emergency intervention is needed or an unexpected delivery occurs, our clinicians are already in the hospital to ensure quality, timely care for patients.
Our OB hospitalists are highly skilled when it comes to emergencies, and they provide routine care when your private physician is unavailable. We provide all patients with the very best medical care regardless of time, location, complication, or circumstance.
