Amy VanBlaricom, MD
Vice President, Clinical Operations
Dr. Amy VanBlaricom joined Ob Hospitalist Group’s clinical leadership team in October 2016 as a Medical Director of Operations. In 2020, she was promoted to Vice President, Clinical Operations, leading clinical management operations for OBHG programs in the OBHG's Western states. She is based in Seattle, Washington.
Dr. VanBlaricom has served in multiple leadership roles, including site director with OBHG partner hospitals in California. She spent nine years teaching at the University of Washington in Seattle, where she was medical director of the gynecology clinic as well as associate residency program director. In that role, she co-developed the surgical skills curriculum for the residency program, which became a national standard for best practices.
For 10 years Dr. VanBlaricom served on the Surgical Scholars faculty for APGO, a professional organization for OB/GYN educators, co-directing the program for three years before establishing a private practice in 2007. In 2014, she transitioned into hospitalist work with OBHG.
Dr. VanBlaricom is committed to improving the quality and availability of obstetric care to expectant mothers and growing the Ob/GYN profession inside and outside her role with OBHG. She is passionate about data, especially how it relates to the quality, safety and impact of women's healthcare. She currently is a member of the Maternal Mortality Review Panel for the State of Washington, sits on the Management Committee for the Obstetrical Care Outcomes Assessment Program (OBCOAP) for the Foundation for Health Care Quality in the State of Washington, serves as a member of the Washington State Hospital Association Safe Deliveries Roadmap steering committee, serves as the Regional Medical Director for Obstetrics for CHI/CommonSpirit and leads the research committee for the Society of OB/GYN Hospitalists (SOGH).
