The nation’s largest and only dedicated OB hospitalist provider
Immediate care for all pregnant women
Ob Hospitalist Group was founded on the vision and commitment that every expectant mother presenting to labor and delivery would receive consistent, unconditional, quality medical care from an experienced physician. Today, we are the largest and only dedicated OB/GYN hospitalist employer in the nation. Our singular focus on OB hospitalist programs gives us unparalleled insight to deliver differentiated performance and results.
What We Do
Our dedicated OB/GYN clinicians are in the hospital 24/7 to ensure consistent, timely care for every pregnant woman presenting to the labor and delivery unit or obstetric emergency department. Their presence reduces delays in emergent OB/GYN care, improves outcomes, reduces wait times and increases patient satisfaction compared to traditional triage models. In addition, OBHG hospitalists offer collaborative, non-competitive support for private-practice physicians.
Why We're Different
Our singular focus in OB hospitalist medicine has allowed us to develop deep knowledge and experience within the OB hospitalist space, including clinical data sets, OB hospitalist specific training, and processes for ensuring compliance to national, evidence-based protocols. Across our national network, our hospital partners see better patient outcomes, reduced malpractice liability and better overall customer experience.
OBHG helped to bring in an outside, positive influence as a back-up and guardrails for evidence-based standards of care. To have an OB on site, present 24/7 who could step in if there was a maternal complication was very important to us.
You never know when you’re going to have an emergency walk through the door. With an OBHG physician always in the hospital, there is no time wasted when a patient needs immediate care.
It’s nice not having to worry about all the office things that I used to have to worry about, to have a defined set of responsibilities. I get to work and do my job, and then I get to come home…It’s a wonderful fit for me.
I love having the physicians here because it's an immediate resource. Instead of having to wait minutes or longer, having access to somebody who can immediately help us deliver a baby that's in trouble, whether it be by emergency cesarean or a patient who comes in who is imminently delivering really makes a difference in the level of care that we can give.
OBHG hospitalists not only respond to emergencies in progress to improve outcomes, but they also work toward keeping their hospital team ready and prepared to respond while trying to predict and prevent emergencies before they happen.
