"The second night after OBHG started, a woman came in with an abruption and needed a stat C-section surgery. The OBHG physician got her into surgery within 16 minutes vs. the standard of 30 minutes. This probably averted a disaster and went a long way in confirming our decision with the nurses and local groups."
Data obtained via SAFE and reviewed by OBHG’s Quality team is placed in OBHG’s Patient Safety Evaluation System. Related actions are proactive and non-punitive in nature, with multi-departmental committees to conduct clinical reviews, provide hospital and provider feedback and action plans, and establish a comprehensive approach to quality improvement activities with the goal of improving obstetrical outcomes nationally.
OBHG’s commitment to a Patient Safety Evaluation System maximizes opportunity for quality improvement activities and initiatives while protecting patient safety work product and related processes at the national level. This approach is particularly important for hospital partners located in jurisdictions with limited state-level peer review protections.
