SAFE Education

Continuing education is paramount for maintaining and expanding the superlative skill set our OBHG providers bring to their programs. It’s what our hospital partners expect, and OBHG accepts nothing less than clinical excellence. The OBHG Risk Management, Quality, and Compliance Department is responsible for ensuring that all providers complete required training before their effective start date and within specified periods after starting.

Additionally, OBHG utilizes the GNOSIS™ for OB platform through Advanced Practice Strategies (APS) to ensure standardization among our clinical teams. The Risk Management, Quality, and Compliance Department continually audits perinatal core measure performance, CMS updates, and risk event data to identify ongoing educational needs and to guarantee that our providers are following best practice standards.

Cutting-Edge OB Education Partnership

Taking its educational offerings to the next level, OBHG in January 2016 began providing its physicians and clinicians with Advance Practice Strategies (APS)’s GNOSIS for OB™ education and analytics  platform. GNOSIS adds a valuable data analytics component to ensure its obstetrics educational content remains not only current but also superior across the nation. The first year of GNOSIS assessments are providing benchmark data to establish content priorities and customize personalized learning paths based on the specific needs of the physician or clinician.

Nearly 1 in 5 babies nationwide is delivered in a facility that uses APS. The impact is significant. OBHG’s partnership with APS continues to grow, increasing its data analytics capacity, offering best practice OB education, and networking opportunities. APS even featured OBHG as an exemplary model of an organization utilizing GNOSIS in an October 2016 promotional blog post. OBHG and APS also jointly produced a GNOSIS webinar to help inform business development conversations with potential new partners.
