The hospital is home to spacious, private labor and delivery suites; a level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with 28 private rooms; and state-of-the-art perinatal intensive care.

The city is served by the Springfield Public School District, the largest district in the state. It is also home to a number of private schools.

Institutions of higher education include Missouri State University, Drury University, Ozarks Technical Community College, Baptist Bible College, Evangel University, Cox College (Nursing and Allied Health), Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences of Southwest Baptist University, Columbia College, University of Phoenix, Everest College and Webster University.
