The city boasts four golf courses, the country’s largest youth baseball complex, eight softball fields, 17 tennis courts, five soccer fields, an equestrian arena, a roller hockey rink and the DeSoto County Greenways. Nearby Arkabutla Lake offers some of the Southeast’s best fishing as well as sailing, swimming, biking, hiking, camping, hunting and disc golf.

The area has many major shopping centers, including Southaven Towne Center Mall and Tanger Outlets; more than 300 dining options; several history museums; the Mississippi Blue Trail; and geocaching.

Southaven residents enjoy live entertainment from national acts at the BankPlus Amphitheater at Snowden Grove Park, Landers Center and DeSoto Family Theatre.

Education

Southaven is served by the DeSoto County School District as well as several private schools.

Institutions of higher education include University of Mississippi – Desoto and Northwest Mississippi Community College.
