Ob Hospitalist Group has two programs in the Louisville region:
The first hospital is a not-for-profit 379-bed teaching hospital that has served the Louisville community since 1886. It offers maternal-fetal medicine for high-risk pregnancies, private labor, delivery and recovery rooms, as well as couplet care for both mothers and babies in the same room postpartum. It is home to a level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
The second hospital is a newly redesigned facility that opened in 2014. FitPregnancy.com named it one of "The Best Places to Give Birth in America." It is home to a 40-bed level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), a 14-bed inpatient pediatric unit, a maternal-fetal medicine program and all-private labor/delivery/recovery rooms.
Louisville is located on the Ohio River along Kentucky's border with Indiana. It is the largest city in Kentucky and is known as the "Possibility City." The Greater Louisville region is comprised of 1.4 million residents in 10 counties in Kentucky and five counties in Indiana. It is the 28th-largest city in the United States. Arts and Entertainment
Louisville residents enjoy four distinct seasons each year, perfect to enjoy all of the city's outdoor and entertainment opportunities.
Each May, Louisville hosts the Kentucky Derby horse race at Churchill Downs. The city is also known for baseball and is home to the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, which produces bats for Major League Baseball.
Louisville's revitalized downtown is home to an entertainment district and Riverfront Park. It was voted one of the best cities in America for cyclists and has thriving parks, a world-famous skate park and the country's largest municipal forest.
Louisville is home to a vibrant arts and entertainment scene. Enjoy live performances at the Kentucky Center, explore downtown's art scene during First Friday Hops, check out the city's Urban Bourbon Trail, or shop local at Bardstown Road and Baxter Avenue.
The Jefferson County Public Schools district is among the largest and most-honored school districts in the country. The city also has numerous private and parochial schools. Louisville is home to more than 30 colleges and universities, including the University of Louisville, Bellarmine University and Spalding University.
