The Opportunity

Ob Hospitalist Group has partnered with this facility to develop and manage a program that provides 24/7 emergent care to expectant mothers.

As an OBHG hospitalist, you are the in-house expert whose advanced clinical skill and ability to handle any OB emergency dramatically improves patient safety and satisfaction.

You will work closely with local OB/GYNs to ensure that every pregnant woman who presents to the hospital is cared for by an experienced physician, every time.

Hospital Information

The hospital is a 217-bed community facility. Its Women's Hospital opened in 2010 and is dedicated to the health of women in central and eastern Kentucky. The facility is 60,000 square feet on three floors and includes patient- and family-centric design with lounge, play and education areas for the whole family. It has 12 labor and delivery rooms, three dedicated Cesarean section rooms and a 16-bay level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

The Location

Lexington is located in Fayette County, Kentucky, and is the second-largest city in the state. The city is home to more than 310,000 residents, and the total number of residents in the metropolitan area tops 708,000.

Lexington has one of the country's most stable economies, which is powered by four Fortune 500 companies and a number of other large corporations, as well as education and healthcare.

The city is served by Blue Grass Airport, Interstate 64 and Interstate 75, as well as the Lextran public bus system.

Arts and Entertainment

Lexington is located in the heart of Kentucky's Bluegrass region and is also known as the Horse Capital of the World. It is home to the Kentucky Horse Park, Keeneland and The Red Mile racing courses, and Rupp Arena, which is the largest dedicated basketball arena in the world.

Enjoy cuisine at one of the city's 120-plus local restaurants, visit a bourbon bar or microbrewery, shop 'til you drop at the state's largest mall or dozens of local shops, walk the African American Heritage Trail, browse art at local galleries, stroll through Triangle Park, tour a nearby horse farm, or take in a musical or theater performance.

Fayette County Public Schools provide primary and secondary education to Lexington students. The city also has a number of private schools.

Lexington is home to numerous institutions of higher education, including the University of Kentucky, Transylvania University, Sullivan University, Spencerian College, Bluegrass Community & Technical College, Lexington Theological Seminary, Strayer University, MedTech, Indiana Wesleyan University and Midway College.
