The hospital is a non-profit organization that has served the Wabash Valley community since 1892. As a teaching hospital, it provides training and education to medical and nursing students, pharmacy residents, family medicine physicians, and other allied health professionals. The hospital is home to a level III neonatal intensive care unit, the highest level NICU in Wabash Valley, as well as spacious private birthing and post-partum rooms.
Terre Haute is located in Vigo County, Indiana. The Terre Haute metropolitan area has a population of nearly 171,000. The city is known as the capital of Wabash Valley. Conveniently located just 75 miles west of Indianapolis, Terre Haute sits at the intersection of US 40 and 341 and is served by two airports. It is within 185 miles of Chicago, Cincinnati, Louisville and St. Louis.
Terre Haute means "highland" in French and the city was likely named by French explorers in the early 18th century. The city is a regional hub for healthcare, retail, arts, entertainment, recreation, manufacturing and higher education.
Arts and Entertainment
Terre Haute has more than 1,000 acres of dedicated community land, including two golf courses, parks, trails and greenways. The city's Arts Corridor includes a museum as well as two galleries.
With a strong music community and multiple venues, there is no shortage of live entertainment. Terre Haute's Symphony Orchestra is the oldest in the state. Terre Haute hosts numerous festivals each year, including The Walk, Strawberry Fest, Vigo County Fair, Blues at the Crossroads and the Downtown Farmers' Market.
Terre Haute is home to many higher education institutions, including Indiana State University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana

As an OBHG hospitalist, you are the in-house expert whose advanced clinical skill and ability to handle any OB emergency dramatically improves patient safety and satisfaction.
You will work closely with local OB/GYNs to ensure that every pregnant woman who presents to the hospital is cared for by an experienced physician, every time.
