The hospital is 451-bed not-for-profit facility that serves Decatur and the surrounding Atlanta area. Its state-of-the-art Women's and Surgery Center treats women in every stage of life, from pregnancy through menopause. It is home to 18 private labor, delivery and recovery suites, 52 private postpartum mother-baby rooms, and a level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The hospital delivers more than 5,000 babies a year. It was the first hospital in the state to receive a "Baby-Friendly" Hospital Initiative designation. The hospital has also been awarded 5-STAR Hospital Recognition from the Georgia Department of Public Health.
Decatur is located in DeKalb County, Georgia, just six miles east of Atlanta and six miles west of Stone Mountain inside Atlanta's I-285 perimeter. The city is four square miles and is home to 19,000 residents.
Named after United State Naval hero Stephen Decatur, the city's official motto is, "A city of homes, schools and places of worship."
Decatur has convenient access to Atlanta's MARTA rail line at its downtown square and is less than 30 minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
Arts and Entertainment
Decatur feels like a small town in heart of the Atlanta metro area. It boasts more than 200 independently owned restaurants, art galleries, shops, salons and other businesses in its tree-lined downtown. Foodies will love Decatur's numerous acclaimed restaurants, shoppers can enjoy the city's fine boutiques and music lovers can take in live performances at the famed Eddie's Attic and nearby venues.
The city is served by the Decatur City School District, which includes one high school, one middle school, a fourth-fifth grade academy and five elementary schools.
Decatur is home to a number of higher education institutions, including Agnes Scott College, Columbia Theological Seminary, a branch of the Art Institute of Atlanta and a branch of DeVry University. It is also in close proximity to Emory University.

As an OBHG hospitalist, you are the in-house expert whose advanced clinical skill and ability to handle any OB emergency dramatically improves patient safety and satisfaction.
You will work closely with local OB/GYNs to ensure that every pregnant woman who presents to the hospital is cared for by an experienced physician, every time.
