Support When and Where You Need It Most
At the center of every successful Labor and Delivery department is a strong team of staff physicians. That’s why Ob Hospitalist Group partners with and supports staff OB/GYN physicians. No competition. No conflicts of interest. We simply support your existing team when needed, promoting a a favorable work/life balance and less physician burnout. As a result, our partner hospitals enjoy stronger relationships with their medical staff and more compelling physician recruiting campaigns through:
Call Coverage Enabling Work-Life Balance
OBHG hospitalists are on-site 24 hours a day, 365 days a year so your private physicians can leverage them for on-call coverage. Our hospitalists welcome the opportunity to support your staff OB/GYN physicians by providing patient care at the physician’s request (nights, weekends, holidays, vacation).
Triage Support Improving Productivity
OBHG hospitalists partner with staff nurses and physicians to deliver timely triage for every woman presenting to the Labor and Delivery department. For unscheduled private patients, the OBHG hospitalist can determine appropriate emergent care or admission, if this is the private physician’s desire. The staff physician will then be notified, allowing the OB/GYN physician to continue seeing patients until he or she is truly needed at the hospital.
Unassigned Coverage Increasing Profitability
OBHG hospitalists welcome the role of providing care for unassigned and uninsured patients, reducing the burden staff physicians normally encounter for less profitable patients.
Surgical Assistance Improving Outcomes
Staff physicians will have immediate assistance for emergencies and surgical procedures, reducing the stress of handling these situations without support and decreasing the risk of such events.
A Resource, Not a Rival
An OBHG program doesn’t present a threat to your staff physicians the way that having “outside” OB/GYN specialists working with their patients often does. OBHG hospitalists are limited from having affiliations with local private practices, so there is zero patient recruitment.
