OBHG Recognizes Six Partner Hospitals Named in Forbes’ Top 25 Employer Hospitals List

This year, Forbes Magazine asked employees working in hospitals across the country to rank their employers. These employers were featured in Forbes’ list of America's Best Employers. We are proud to announce six Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG) hospital partners were ranked in the top 25 companies for employee satisfaction and employer recommendation.

Baycare Health System, which ranked #17, includes several hospitals: Winter Haven Hospital, Mease Countryside Hospital, Morton Plant Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital and St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital. Earlier this year, St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital welcomed baby Avery Ford, the largest baby born in Florida, with the help of Ob Hospitalist Group.

Lakeland Regional Medical Center (LRMC) garnered the #5 spot. Hospital CEO Elaine Thompson said that LRMC is “…excited to join the prestigious organizations on this list. Labor and Delivery Teamwork Leads to Fewer Cesareans

When midwives and laborists work in conjunction with an obstetrician, there can be a substantial decrease in the rate of cesarean delivery, according to a study from one large community hospital.

"The change from a private practice to a hospitalist model was associated with dramatic decreases in nulliparous term singleton vertex cesarean delivery rates, and almost a doubling of the rates of vaginal birth after cesarean, said Melissa Rosenstein, MD, from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine.

14.1 Pound Baby Successfully Delivered by OBHG Hospitalist at St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital

Ob Hospitalist Group is proud to announce the birth of Avery Ford, a baby boy born January 29, 2015. Weighing 14.1 pounds, Avery is the heaviest baby born at St Joseph's Women's Hospital to date. Thanks to the excellent care provided by Ob Hospitalist Group physicians, Maxxzandra Ford and her son are healthy and looking forward to returning home soon. 

"We are grateful Dr. Joseph Singer, of Ob Hospitalist Group, was here to handle this extraordinary obstetric event, resulting in a successful delivery for both mom and baby,” said St. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital Director of Women’s Services Pamela Malone Quarles. “The OBHG hospitalists are always responsive, personable and definite patient advocates.”

Huntington Hospital Launches New Program to Provide Excellence in Obstetric Care
