The Opportunity

OBHG Hospitalists are the in-house experts whose ability to handle any OB emergency dramatically improves patient safety and satisfaction.

This opportunity involves working collaboratively with local obstetricians to ensure that every pregnant woman who presents to the hospital is cared for by an experienced physician every time. We are seeking OB/GYNs with exceptional clinical and communication skills, a passion for healthcare quality improvement, and a desire to shape the future of our specialty.

As a clinician-centered company, OBHG provides unparalleled support and resources and superior work/life balance. Full-time Hospitalists have the freedom to create their own schedules – typically eight 24-hour shifts per month – with no on-call duty or office management.

Hospital Information

Rush Foundation Hospital is a 215-bed facility founded in 1915 and part of Rush Health Systems, which includes seven hospitals and more than 50 specialty and primary care practices that serve the citizens of East Central Mississippi and West Alabama.

The hospital's Family Birth Center, one of the first of its kind in the state, features a recently renovated labor and delivery unit with 18 suites where new mothers can experience all phases of the birthing process in a single room. The Birth Center also offers midwifery services and houses a modern, spacious 12-bed NICU.

The facility currently sees about 1,000 annual deliveries.

The Location

Meridian, Mississippi, home to Mississippi State University Meridian Riley Campus, is about 1.5 hours from Jackson (aerial view pictured), two hours from Birmingham and Mobile, and 3.5 hours from the beautiful Alabama beaches, including Dauphin Island, Orange Beach (pictured) and Gulf Shores.

Its downtown area has many historic buildings to explore, including Threefoot Building, a 1929 16-story Art Deco beauty, the Deen building and the restored MSU Riley Center which hosts conferences and performing arts events. Other attractions include the Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience (the MAX) and Highland Park which houses railroad and country music museums along with Dentzel Carousel (pictured), a National Historic Landmark and the world's only two-row stationary Dentzel menagerie. The park also has swimming pools, tennis courts, softball fields and a playground.

Bonita Lakes offers the Long Creek Reservoir and Lakeview Municipal Golf Course, along with nature trails, bike paths, picnic facilities, boat ramps, paddle boats and concessions.

Meridian also hosts the State Games of Mississippi, an annual multi-sport event where more than 70,000 athletes have competed.
